Students will practice all types of writing especially
reflective essays.

Students will engage in all kinds of practice organized
around a variety of social situations: one-to-one interaction, group discussion,
interviews, and oral presentations.

Students will represent themselves appropriately using
standard Chinese. To produce high quality work, students will do a number
of drafts before they complete each piece of writing work.

Students will read critically the government records and
other historical materials about the early Chinese immigrants in NYC,
and make informed judgments about issues that impacted the lives of this
ethnic group. By studying the experiences of their predecessors, students
will have a better understanding of the their own, so that they will function
more successfully in today’s world.
Students will offer critiques of documents and argue for
their own opinions.
